It’s still the 21st century and game launches often come with their own set of hiccups. The newly launched Overwatch 2 comes with the latest heroes, maps, game modes, and many more stuff to get excited about. However, it also comes with its fair share of bugs and server problems.

The “Unexpected Server Error” is one of the most common error messages players are getting in the game. We’ll look at the error and see how we can fix it in this guide.

Unlike most other games, fixing the “Unexpected Server Error” problem is easy. Close your Overwatch 2 game completely and relaunch it. If it does not work on the first try, keep repeating the steps for a few times.

Players should check the global status of game servers. You can check the official Twitter page of the game or the Blizzard support page.

However, if you are still not getting anywhere, here are a few straightforward tips to help fix the problem.

  • Inspect your internet settings for any abnormalities.
  • Change your region settings in Battle.net and change it back to the original.
  • Check if Overwatch 2 is on the latest version.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the game completely.
  • Disable any third-party VPN/Proxy settings.
  • Check if your console has a pending update. If you are on PC, check for Windows update.

The above steps should fix the error. If not, contact Blizzard support from the link we mentioned above.
