Mods are a pivotal part of gaming. Providing players with unique and inventive ways to enjoy the titles they love, even years after they’ve been released. However, most of the time, only PC players get to enjoy mods, as very few PlayStation or Xbox titles have this feature.

With the exception of Skyrim.

So, with Skyrim being one of the few console games that features mods, and with the Xbox One being one of the more popular gaming consoles in the world, we’ve chosen to take a closer look at some of the best Skyrim Xbox One mods in 2022.

10. FPS Boost

We’ll start off with one of the more basic mods, the FPS Boost, which essentially lowers the resolution of rain, snow and leaf particles to help improve the performance of the game, making everything run a little bit smoother. Even though the Xbox One carries more GPU power than previous models, it can still struggle with a game as detailed as Skyrim. So, while simple, this is one of the more underrated Skyrim mods for overall performance.

9. Legendary Creatures

The Legendary Creatures basically adds eight deadly creatures into the world of Skyrim. Each of which guards valuable loot that can help you progress in the game. Specifically, powerful armor, weapons and spells. This mod offers up more of a challenge (and a reward) for high-level players.

8. M.H.A.R.P.H.I.N.

Meet M.H.A.R.P.H.I.N., your new robotic companion. In this mod, you’ll be joined by a new companion who comes with a multitude of dialogue, custom armor, custom spells, witty interactions and an intriguing story line. Not to mention some brand-new dungeons, puzzles and up to eight hours of additional gameplay.

7. Campfire: Complete Camping System

With the Campfire: Complete Camping System mod, you must survive the dangerous world of Skyrim with just two new Survival Skills: Resourcefulness and Instincts. With an updated survival system, you will be allowed to set up camp, build fires, hunt with these new abilities, and utilize whatever else you can find in the world around you. Presenting a fresh and fun way to enjoy the game.

6. The Forgotten City

Another fantastic Skyrim mod is The Forgotten City. In this award-winning, critically acclaimed, fan-created expansion mod with up to eight hours of gameplay, players must solve a murder investigation set in an ancient underground city. With this mod, you will get to experience secret dungeons shrouded in mystery, as well as new story segments, alternate endings and unique characters.

5. Dwemer Goggles and Scouter

This mod is pretty simple, yet incredibly rewarding. Essentially, you’ll have the ability to craft new “Dwemer Goggles” as well as a “Dwemer Scouter.” Both of which will allow you to sense NPCs through walls. The Goggles will also provide night vision and the Scouter will highlight and color code enemies based on their threat level.

4. God Tier Weapons and Heavy Armor

Obviously, you don’t want to make yourself completely invincible in Skyrim. Otherwise, there’d be no point in playing the game. However, at the same time, it would be pretty fun to roam around with powerful gear and turn you into an unstoppable force, making you “God-like,” if you will. In this mod, you will be equipped with HIGHLY O.P. weapons and heavy armor to help you overcome even the deadliest of foes.

3. The Paarthurnax Dilemma

Were you disappointed by how the main quest ended? Well, now you can rewrite history and decide not to kill your flying friend. With this mod, you would simply approach the quest as usual. However, instead you will be able to disobey the Blades and spare the dragon’s life at the end of the story, taking matters into your own hands.

2. Alternate Start – Live Another Life

Similar to The Paarthurnax Dilemma, the Alternate Start (Live Another Life) mod allows you to approach the game from a different angle. This time, from the beginning. With this mod, you can choose to be something other than a prisoner when you first set out on your Skyrim journey. Providing you with more variety when it comes to the race you choose and the life you want your character to live.

1. Moonpath to Elsweyr

Finally, if you’re in search of a lengthy expansion that’ll introduce new characters, quests, dungeons and monsters. Look no further than the Moonpath to Elseweyr. This one allows you to travel the hidden path of Elseweyr, exploring burning deserts, emerald jungles and cerulean skies. Despite being one of the first quest mods ever released for Skyrim, it‘s been downloaded by millions of users and is still being played to this day. Making it one of the more popular and enjoyable Skyrim mods out there.
