Subnautica below zero
Subnautica below zero

Subnautica: Below zero is finally here, bringing Thalassophobia (fear of the ocean) to everyone, and realizing their dreams in the wandering Leviathans. This independent game brought the player back to planet 4546B, but it cast a shadow over the entire adventure. This time, explorers will have to brave the abyss of the Arctic to withstand the cold and discover new species in the snow-covered area.

This is a brand new quest, but thankfully, it has many of the same game mechanics as its predecessor. After being thrown into the ocean, players must explore, create and build a path to victory, but here, not everything is black and white. Many materials are needed to create certain items, and one of the most important materials at the beginning of the game is the Table Coral. These useful pancake-like creatures are a problem for some people, so here is all the knowledge about them.

What Are Table Coral?

Table corals are corals, but to succeed in Subnautica, their samples must be used. They grow in groups, usually horizontally (extending from walls and rocks), but it is possible to find them growing vertically (attached to the seabed). Fortunately, they are easy to spot due to their flat round shape and jewelry-like highlights all over the top and bottom. They also have four different colors. Purple, green, blue and red. Once harvested (with the Thermoblade or Survival Knife), the Table Coral will drop one Table Coral Sample.

When players first appear in Subnautica: Below Zero, they must prioritize Table Coral Samples. These miniature orange discs (no matter what color Table Coral is collected, they are shown as orange in the player’s inventory) are responsible for creating computer chips, which are the materials needed to create many of the tools and techniques available in the game. Table Coral Samples are also used to build Parallel Processing Units and Scanner Rooms.

Where To Find Table Coral?

If you know where to look, it’s not hard to find feeding corals, but it should be noted that they are not “excessively abundant”. You can harvest these necessary nodes in two main areas:

  • Lilypad Islands
  • Twisty Bridges

By simply exploring these two zones and looking along the walls and seafloor, you should be able to gather up Table Coral Samples.

Can You Grow Table Coral?

Players need to use a large number of Table Coral according to the required tools and techniques. Two samples of Table Coral are needed to build a computer chip (but fortunately, only one chip is needed to build each technology or tool).

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, there is no reliable way to grow Table Coral. The only way for players to get Table Coral Samples is to explore the depths of the ocean and find them naturally. Fortunately, they are not difficult to find, but it can definitely take a bit of time to get enough if players need a large amount of them

They can also be received as materials from sea monkeys, but players should not use this as a guarantee to obtain table coral samples, because sea monkeys have a lot of materials that can be randomly provided to players. .
