Many Pokehunters want to find the adorable Pokemon Rockruff in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. This is due to the fact that his evolution form, Lycanroc, is extremely powerful. It also comes in three different forms: Midday Lycanroc, Midnight Lycanroc, and the extremely rare Dusk Lycanroc. This guide will show you not only what level Rockruff evolves to, but also how to evolve him into each of his three different forms.

What Level Does Rockruff Evolve in Pokemon Violet?

Rockruff evolves into Lycanroc in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet at level 25. If you level Rockruff to level 25 during the day, he’ll evolve into Midday Lycanroc. If you level Rockruff to 25 during the night, he’ll evolve to Nighttime Rockruff.

You can level up Rockruff with XP Candies or rare candies. It’s also worth noting, that the Pokemon Scarlet & Violets time cycle is separate from your system or real-time. It follows its own in-game cycle, where a full day takes 35 minutes. You can tell the time of day by opening your map and checking the circle icon at the top.

If you want to evolve Rockruff to his rare Dusk Form Lyconroc, you need to meet a couple of requirements. You need to have a Rockruff with the Own Tempo ability and need to level the Pokemon to level 25 at dusk. That’s specifically in the afternoon, between 7-8 pm. At this time, the circle icon on your map will have an orange background to signify the sun going down.

While leveling Rockruff during this short time period is difficult, it will be more challenging to get one with the Own Tempo ability. That’s because you need to find a Rockruff with Own Tempo in the wild, which is quite rare. If you try to evolve a Rockruff without the Own Tempo ability during this time, they won’t evolve into Dusk form Lyconroc.
