At the time of writing, Valheim Black Metal is the strongest material in the game and is used to craft some of the most powerful weapons you can get. However, as you might expect, you can’t go out and find something early in the game. Black Metal in Valheim is a late game perspective, and you will use it to defeat the final boss. Taking on a Fuling
Fuling in the plains biome will drop black metal fragments upon death. The smaller Fuling will drop 1-4, and the Fuling Berserker will drop 4-16. Both enemies are very dangerous, especially 2*Fuling. Players can always find these creatures in small shanty camps in the plains biome. Small Fulings can punch, but it is a real threat only when several of them chase. The Berserker deals a lot of damage, and the blunt 2 * damage is 260. Before starting to deal with these enemies, survivors need Padded armor and upgraded weapons.
The Pacifist Route
Anyone who is worried about fighting Fuling can rob many chests in each camp. These chests have a large amount of black metal scrap. For most players, looting these boxes is enough to meet their production needs. Sneak in, plunder and run towards the hills. The Fulings will be angry and pester them for a while, but eventually they will lose interest. After looting in some villages, players can fill a box with black metal scraps.
Turning Scrap to Black Metal
First, the player needs a blast furnace. The blast furnace will allow players to refine scrap materials into ingots. Players will not be able to craft it until they have defeated Moder and obtained the following items:
10 Iron
20 Fine Wood
20 Stone
5 Surtling Cores
Black Metal Uses
Valheim does not currently have black metal armor, which is strange because other types of metal also have armor sets. Maybe developers will add new black metal armor in the future, but for now, all survivors can use this material to create weapons. The black metal weapon is the most powerful weapon in the game.
This is not to say that weapons like Porcupine and Draugr Fang are not superior in their chosen category, but black metal is hard to go wrong. Below is a list of all black metal weapons and shields, including the number of materials required by the player to make them. Players will also need to collect Fine Wood and Linen Thread to Forge the weapons.
