Guilty Gear Strive
Guilty Gear Strive

Guilty Gear Strive has a mechanism called Roman Cancel, if used properly, it may be your best move. However, it boils down to where, when and how to use it in the game. Therefore, to run a perfect RC in Guilty Gear Strive, continue reading this guide.

For Roman cancellation in Guilty Gear Strive, press 3 buttons at the same time, none of which is a dust button. If you use dust button, this will directly cancel your combination and return your character to a neutral position. RC will help you start a new combination from the beginning to match your opponent’s moves.

Remember that using it at the wrong time will cause you to fall into the game and suffer more damage, so time and speed are the keys to performing a perfect RC that works for you.

These are three types of RC that the players can use:

Red RC– Red will consume 50% of your tension meter, and in return, it will cancel the character’s animation into an optimal setup, combo extension, or stray hit, depending on your current move.

Yellow RC– For 50% tension meter, you can replace your dead angle attack by generating shock waves when blocking and attacking and knocking down the enemies, making his speed a little slower.

Purple RC– Similarly, this will cost 50% tension meter, and it will slow down your enemy. As long as the opponent is not hitstun or a blockstun, the Roman cancellation will occur at the beginning or end of the attack.

Blue RC– In exchange for a 50% of the tension meter, this Roman cancellation can be applied when your character is in a neutral position and is not attacking.
