Fortnite is handsdown one of, if not the biggest games in the world. But even with it being such a massive title, there are still going to be issues that pop up that players have to deal with. If you’re someone who plays the game on a console, more specifically on a PlayStation or Xbox console, then chances are you’ve come across the dreaded ESP-buimet-003 error code. Luckily for you, we’ve got a few different remedies that you can try in order to get back into the action, building to your heart’s content.

When it comes to the ESP-buimet-003 error code, the thing to know about it is that it has to due with network or server-related issues in one way or another. Some reasons why this may happen could fall on the side of the game’s connection itself, but others may actually have to do with how your Xbox or PlayStation is connecting to the internet. Let’s dive into the remedies!

Fortnite Server Status

The very first thing you should do when you get the ESP-buimet-003 error code is to log onto Twitter and check the official Fortnite Status page to see if the game is experiencing server or network-related issues across the entire console’s playerbase. This will give you all of the information you need to know at a glance, and the page will tweet as the issues are fixed.

Additionally, you could check on your console via the internet settings tabs whether or not there’s an issue for all Xbox or PlayStation players, no matter the game.

Restart Your Console

Though it sounds like a silly, and obvious troubleshooting method, it can actually be effective. And I’m not just saying to press the home button to shut it down. The Xbox and PlayStation consoles typically go into Sleep Mode when shut off, which doesn’t restart them. There is an option, however, to fully restart the console which gives it a great refresh and a better chance of connecting to things. You could even unplug it after safely shutting it down to do this too.

Clear Fortnite’s Cache

The last of the easier things to do would be to clear the cache in Fortnite’s tab of your storage device. This clears some of the bits the game saves along the way and gives it its own refresh so that it can start from scratch again.

Other Ways to Fix the Problem

There are two other methods that have been reported to have fixed this problem, though they are a bit more timely. The first is to remove your account from the console you’re on and then add it back. The second is to complete a factory reset on the console itself. I would highly advise trying to avoid this last remedy unless all of the other ones just aren’t working. This can be a timely one as you’ll have to add your account back as well as download all of your games and saved data.
