After being introduced again in 2020, the event of Final Fantasy XVI is sort of completed, in line with government producer Naoki Yoshida. Yoshida additionally serves as director of the critically-acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. In an interview with Uniqlo journal selling Final Fantasy’s Thirty fifth-anniversary collaboration, Yoshida shared that FFXVI, the subsequent upcoming title within the iconic Japanese Role Playing Game collection, has virtually wrapped up manufacturing.

Translated by Reddit person MKillerby, “Right now, the development of FF16 is in its final stage,” stated Yoshida. “As a single-player game, we are aiming to integrate story and gameplay even further. Different to a game where many people play online at the same time, the extent to which the game has an individual focus changes how immersed you are in the story. I think it’s become a story with quite a lot of depth.”

Final Fantasy XVI was (unexpectedly) introduced throughout the PlayStation Showcase in 2020, giving us a beefy trailer introducing characters, setting, and extra. It was later discovered the JRPG was already in growth for 4 years. Since then, Yoshida revealed that growth was delayed by six months because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since 2020 we have now seen little relating to the mission and no launch window set by Square Enix. However, it has already been confirmed that we are going to get a significant update relating to Final Fantasy XVI someday this Spring.
