In the past few weeks, I really like Apex Legends’ new 3v3 Arenas mode, but unfortunately, this mode has a major dropout problem. Respawn hopes to remedy this in the patch that is launched today, which will begin to impose fines on players who leave the team.

The fine for leaving will match the fine already in effect in Apex Legends’ Ranked Battle Royale mode, which sets the player to a 10-minute timeout before they can play the game again. Respawn clarified that you will only be penalized if you are on a complete team when you leave the game, which means you will not be penalized because other teammates leave first. After the update, players will also be warned about abandonment penalty before leaving the game.

Dropping out is basically a problem with all multiplayer FPS, but it is especially annoying in Apex Legends, as missing players cannot be replaced once they leave. The new sanctions show that Respawn is taking Arenas’ competitive integrity seriously. Now, what we need is a correct 3v3 rated mode.

This small patch also includes a fix for unintended Wattson nerf, which does not slow down players passing through its electronic fence. Fixed a bug that allowed players to purchase upgrades without sufficient points. After a short break to correct some other exploits, Valkyrie was also reactivated for use in the shooting range.
